Arctic Solutions – Local Energy and Clean Water in Arctic Conditions

Off Grid Energy & Water AS develops energy and water production solutions for Nordic and Arctic markets. These regions share many of the same challenges: extreme cold, harsh weather, long distances and the need for reliable energy and water supply.

The project has been approved by the Research Council of Norway under the SkatteFUNN scheme for a period of two years. The goal is to develop, test and document solutions adapted to cold climates and demanding weather conditions. The work addresses important societal and security needs at a time when preparedness and local self-sufficiency are becoming increasingly important.

We collaborate with strong Nordic technology companies, equipment suppliers and industrial partners. The solutions will be presented to recognized national research centers and to potential users in Troms county with whom we are already in dialogue.

The Project Aims to Document

  • Reliable energy and water production at temperatures down to −30 °C.

  • Vertical wind energy solutions for wind speeds from 2 to 50 m/s, with testing of power output, operation and safety under both normal and extreme weather conditions.

  • The interaction between local energy supply and modular water production.

Off Grid Energy & Water AS designs and builds sustainable solutions for local self-sufficiency in energy and water for critical infrastructure. We combine technology, preparedness and local value creation for municipalities and businesses.

Clean water and reliable energy – even in the most demanding conditions.
